Abu Dhabi Executive Council Adopts Agentic AI for Senior Government Decision-Making
Abu Dhabi's Executive Council has deployed an agentic AI platform at the highest level of government deliberation. Chaired by Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, the session marked the first use of the AI Committee System in an Executive Council meeting. The platform analysed proposals, generated executive summaries and delivered real-time insight to the discussion — autonomous tooling inside formal sovereign governance.

L'imad to raise AD Ports stake above 98.5%, settlement by 9 October
Abu Dhabi sovereign investor L'imad is set to increase its holding in AD Ports Group to more than 98.5 per cent, with settlement expected no later than 9 October. The move further concentrates state ownership in one of the emirate's principal port and logistics operators, leaving minimal free float in the listed entity. No transaction value was disclosed in the announcement.

ADX integrates DFNS wallet infrastructure to advance tokenisation ambitions
The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange has entered a strategic agreement with DFNS, an institutional digital-asset custody technology provider, to deploy enterprise-grade wallet infrastructure and tokenisation capabilities across on-chain assets. The arrangement positions ADX among the first regional financial market infrastructures to develop integrated wallet and tokenisation functions, supporting the issuance, listing and trading of digital assets in the UAE and beyond. DFNS's platform spans more than 30 blockchains and 1,000 tokens.

XRG Acquires Equity Stake in Azerbaijan's 3,500km Southern Gas Corridor
XRG, Adnoc's international energy investment unit, has completed the acquisition of an equity stake in Azerbaijan's Southern Gas Corridor, a 3,500-kilometre pipeline system running from the Caspian Sea to Southern Europe with annual capacity of up to 26 billion cubic metres of natural gas. The transaction extends XRG's footprint across the Caspian region while positioning Abu Dhabi as a structural participant in Europe's ongoing effort to reduce dependence on Russian gas supplies.

Space42 and Viasat commit $1bn to direct-to-device satellite platform Equatys
UAE-based Space42 and California's Viasat have formalised a joint venture, committing one billion dollars in equity to establish Equatys, a satellite communications platform designed to connect smartphones and devices directly to low-Earth orbit satellites. The initiative targets coverage gaps where conventional mobile infrastructure is absent. Commercial services are projected to become available from 2029, marking a significant capital deployment by a UAE space entity into direct-to-device connectivity architecture.
